Voice AI company ElevenLabs has launched a new mobile app for Android and iOS, enabling users to convert text into speech with just a few taps. Whether you're a content creator, marketer, or AI enthusiast, the app brings ElevenLabs’ advanced voice technology directly to your smartphone. Previously, users had to use a web browser to create voice clips with ElevenLabs’ AI voice models. Keep reading for all the details about the new app.

How The App Works and How to Use It

The app’s workflow is straightforward: enter or paste your text, select from the available voice models, and tap to generate an audio clip. You can pick voices that balance quality and cost, with free users allotted roughly 10 minutes of audio generation. Credits are shared between the mobile and web platforms. A highlight is the support for ElevenLabs’ v3 alpha model, which lets you fine-tune tone and expression using simple tags. Figure 1 shows ElevenLabs Debuts Mobile App for AI Voice Generation.

Why a Mobile App?

Jack McDermott, ElevenLabs’ mobile growth lead, explained the motivation for launching the mobile app. Speaking to TechCrunch, he said, “Over the past year, our community of content creators, marketers, educators, voice artists, and professionals has shown incredible creativity using ElevenLabs to bring their projects to life. Many have used ElevenLabs via mobile web browsers and requested a faster, more intuitive, and powerful experience designed specifically for mobile.”

McDermott also noted that many creators already use ElevenLabs in tandem with editing apps like CapCut, Instagram, and InShot. Recognizing this demand, the company decided to develop a native mobile experience [1]. Looking ahead, ElevenLabs plans to introduce additional features, including speech-to-text capabilities, a conversational AI agent, and more.
