Modder rejuvenate has released Version 4.0 of Witcher Online, the ambitious multiplayer mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The latest update introduces a range of new features, improvements, and fixes, further expanding the online experience.

Version 4.0 introduces two major features: a new Party System and Cutscene Synchronization. Players can now form parties to synchronize time, weather, and story cutscenes, with the party leader’s dialogue choices automatically applied to everyone. Party members are also visible on the HUD, making it easier to coordinate and complete quests together in a shared multiplayer experience.

In addition to its major gameplay additions, Version 4.0 improves localization by adding proper translation support for all in-game text. The update also introduces dyed armor color synchronization, ensuring players see the same customized armor colors during multiplayer sessions. Figure 1 shows Witcher Online 4.0 Released.

Version 4.0 also delivers several important bug fixes and stability improvements. It resolves a rare compatibility issue that could prevent the mod from functioning properly alongside large mod collections, fixes a bug that could send players outside the map during certain synchronized cutscenes, and corrects a rendering synchronization issue that occurred when a player was not holding a sword. Overall, the update makes Witcher Online more stable, polished, and enjoyable for multiplayer fans.

Beyond Witcher Online, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt boasts a thriving modding community with a wide range of impressive additions. Popular mods include a first-person mode, a character overhaul that enhances the appearance of more than 100 NPCs, the ability to eliminate most in-game NPCs, and a combat overhaul featuring improved animations, targeting, and dodge mechanics. Fans can also explore restored boat races, 15 additional quests, the reinstated reputation system, a fan expansion based on The Last Wish, DLC-sized expansions centered on Ciri and Dawn Over Kovir, and The WAR Project, an ambitious recreation of the game's long-lost Plague Questline.

The The Witcher 3 modding scene also includes projects that restore cut content from earlier games, remove the artificial "hero" lighting used in cutscenes, and let players explore areas from the original The Witcher within The Witcher 3. Other standout creations include a mod that lets Geralt ride a griffin and a Sekiro-inspired combat overhaul that delivers a faster, more skill-based fighting experience.

For players using ray tracing, several mods further enhance The Witcher 3's visuals. These include the RTX Mirrors mod, which adds realistic mirror reflections, a mod that improves fire effects through Ray Tracing Global Illumination, and another that fixes the washed-out lighting and bleaching issues associated with ray tracing, resulting in a more immersive visual experience.
