Editor Guidelines


Editor-in-Chief (EiC)

The Editor-in-Chief (EiC) is the head of the journal and its discipline, overseeing all journal activities to ensure the journal's success within the scientific community. The EiC handles the scientific quality and development of the journal, supports connections to the Editorial Board, and assists the Editorial Office in managing the journal.


EiC Responsibilities:

  • Nominating new Editorial Board Members: Identify and nominate qualified individuals to join the Editorial Board.
  • Overseeing Journal activities: Provide guidance and suggestions for improving the journal.
  • Overviewing Article submissions: Ensure the quality and relevance of submissions.
  • Assessing Special Issue proposals: Evaluate proposals for special issues.
  • Posting decisions: Make and communicate final decisions on manuscript submissions.
  • Endorsing the Journal: Promote the journal at academic meetings and conferences.
  • Ensuring compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to AnaPub Publications policies.
  • Supporting Publication Production: Oversee the publication process to ensure timely and high-quality output.
  • Contributing Editorials: Write editorials on current topics as their schedule permits.

Responsibilities of Editorial Board Members

Editorial Board Members support the integrity of the published literature by publishing errata, corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern as needed. They must adhere to the policy guidelines provided by the publisher and fulfill their responsibilities with integrity.


Board Member Responsibilities:

  • Supporting integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of published content.
  • Publishing corrections: Issue errata, corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern promptly when needed.
  • Following guidelines: Adhere to the publisher's policy guidelines and uphold the responsibilities with integrity.

Managing Editor

Managing Editors propose development plans for the journal, execute these plans after EiC approval, prepare development reports, identify key topics, commission high-quality articles, pre-screen new submissions, address potential misconducts, draft news and research highlights, assist Academic Editors, monitor assistant and production editors, and generally push the journal forward.


Managing Editor Responsibilities:

  • Proposing development plans: Create and propose plans for journal improvement.
  • Executing plans: Implement approved plans.
  • Preparing reports: Compile and present development reports to the EiC and Editorial Board.
  • Identifying topics: Find important and interesting topics in the field.
  • Commissioning articles: Solicit high-quality articles for the journal.
  • Pre-screening submissions: Evaluate new submissions before academic review.
  • Addressing misconduct: Highlight potential misconduct to Academic Editors.
  • Drafting news: Write short news articles and research highlights.
  • Assisting Academic Editors: Provide support to Academic Editors.
  • Monitoring staff: Oversee assistant and production editors.

Assistant Editor

Assistant Editors facilitate communication among authors, reviewers, and Academic Editors, perform light copyediting, organize the peer review process, report suspected misconducts, and assist Managing Editors in collecting journal data.


Assistant Editor Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with stakeholders: Communicate with authors, reviewers, and Academic Editors.
  • Copyediting: Perform light copyediting of manuscripts.
  • Reporting misconduct: Manage the peer review process.
  • Reporting misconduct: Report any suspected misconduct to Managing Editors.
  • Assisting Managing Editors: Help in collecting and organizing journal data.
