Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan is continuing efforts to realign the company around its core business. According to a report from Reuters, Intel is exploring a potential sale of its networking and edge division—an operation that produces chips for telecom equipment and generated $5.8 billion in revenue in 2024.

The move would align with Tan’s broader strategy to streamline Intel’s operations and concentrate on its core markets: PC and data center chips. At the Intel Vision conference in March, Tan stated that the company intends to spin off non-core assets in pursuit of this goal.
