For instance, AI improves traditional voice services through real-time translation and media rendering. It also enables operators to analyze user behavior and preferences, allowing for more personalized connections and a better customer experience [1]. Additionally, AI-driven predictive maintenance helps prevent network failures, accelerates troubleshooting, and ensures stable and efficient operations.Figure 1 shows AI Integration In 5G.
ZTE has been at the forefront of building AI-native networks. Its AI Core 1.0 solution focuses on four key areas: service intelligence, connectivity, operations, and network cloud.
Service Intelligence: “We introduced an anti-fraud large model to enhance fraud detection and prevention in messaging,” said Wang Weibin. ZTE has also launched an AI-powered new calling solution and developed personal digital assistants.

ZTE is pioneering AI-native networks with its AI Core 1.0 solution, which focuses on four key areas:
- Connectivity Intelligence: ZTE implemented a smart, tiered user experience solution based on NWDAF, shifting the focus from traffic management to experience management.
- Operations Intelligence: The company introduced an AIOps solution featuring a maintenance copilot and an operation agent, helping operators achieve Level 4 and Level 5 autonomous networks.
- Network Cloud Intelligence: “We deployed a distributed pool of general and heterogeneous computing resources to support diverse intelligent applications,” explained Wang Weibin.
Reinforcing its commitment to innovation, ZTE published the ZTE AI Core Technology System White Paper, detailing its concepts, solutions, and practices in integrating AI into core networks.ZTE has achieved significant milestones in AI-driven core networks. “We deployed the world’s first modular ‘AI+’ 5G new calling network, featuring fun calls and real-time translation,” Wang Weibin highlighted.
In collaboration with China Mobile, ZTE launched an anti-fraud messaging solution, significantly improving the detection and interception of fraudulent messages [2]. Additionally, the company utilized digital twin technology to verify disaster recovery solutions for data centers, enhancing network reliability.
