Marblelous is currently available through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign that has already exceeded its $10,952 funding goal. The entry-level starter set, offered at a discounted price of around $87, includes 10 meters of track and a variety of obstacles. For those looking to go all-in, the Mega Geek Pack—priced at approximately $547—offers a significant discount and comes with two starter sets and six electronic components. Shipping is expected to begin as early as June 2025, as all the costly manufacturing tools are already in place.

Each set includes enough paper straws to create an intricate course, but the Marblelous system is also compatible with any straws or tubes that have a six-millimeter diameter. The included supports use suction cups or reusable putty, allowing you to build marble runs on vertical surfaces like windows, mirrors, walls, and cabinets. There’s even a universal mount that’s Lego-compatible, so you can build custom support structures using plastic bricks. Figure 1 shows Smart Marble Runs You Can Build and Control with Wi-Fi.

While Marblelous features a variety of gravity-powered obstacles for marbles to navigate between track sections, it sets itself apart from other marble run toys—like Ravensburger’s popular GraviTrax—with its innovative Smart-Tricks devices, a collection of more advanced, interactive components.

The Smart-Tricks offer a combination of powered and Wi-Fi-connected features, including motorized lifts that return marbles to their starting point, lane switchers that reroute balls onto different tracks, and even a teleporter that creates the illusion of a marble vanishing and reappearing elsewhere—either in another part of the same course or in a connected marble run across the globe.

A sensor that detects the presence of a marble at any point along the track connects to the Marblelous mobile app, enabling it to trigger actions through your smart home devices. This could include playing a specific song on a Google smart speaker or activating a Philips Hue lighting scene. The sensor can also be used to remotely activate a marble launcher, allowing you to extend your marble run across multiple rooms—or even across different locations—so long as there’s a Wi-Fi connection.

"Build These Marble Runs" refers to the hands-on, customizable nature of Marblelous. Users can design and construct intricate tracks using straws, tubes, and modular supports that attach to surfaces like windows, walls, or even Lego bricks.

"Connect Them to Your Smart Home" emphasizes that Marblelous isn't just a physical toy—it integrates with smart home ecosystems. You can link it to devices like smart speakers or smart lights.

"Via Wi-Fi" points out the system’s wireless connectivity, which allows the marble run to communicate with apps and other devices over the internet. This enables cool features like:

  • Triggering music or lighting effects when a marble passes a sensor.
  • Launching marbles remotely.
  • Creating multi-room or even multi-location marble runs that interact in real time.

Build Custom Marble Runs Anywhere

  • Customizable Tracks: Marblelous lets you build elaborate marble runs using paper straws or any 6mm tubes. The pieces snap together easily and are highly flexible.
  • Mounting Anywhere:Using suction cups, reusable putty, and Lego-compatible mounts, you can attach tracks to windows, mirrors, walls, or even build freestanding structures.
  • Gravity-Powered Obstacles:Each set includes unique elements that use gravity to guide marbles through obstacles and transitions.
  • Expandable Sets: Whether you're starting small or going big with the Mega Geek Pack, the system grows with your creativity.

Connect Your Marble Run to Smart Home Devices via Wi-Fi

  • Smart-Tricks Components: These powered and Wi-Fi-enabled modules include motorized lifts, track switchers, and even teleporters that simulate a marble vanishing and reappearing elsewhere—even globally.
  • Smart Home Integration: Using sensors and the Marblelous mobile app, marbles can trigger actions like playing a song on a smart speaker or changing your smart lighting.
  • Remote Interaction:Marbles can launch from different rooms—or even different houses—thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity, letting you create truly interactive and connected marble runs.
