NTT Data, Google Cloud Partner on Agentic AI and Sovereign Cloud
Google Cloud and NTT Data have formed a partnership to deliver industry-focused cloud and AI solutions, emphasizing sovereign cloud capabilities and agentic AI applications.
NTT Data and Google Cloud plan to combine their AI and cloud expertise to provide tailored solutions for industries such as insurance, healthcare, and manufacturing. The collaboration will cover agentic AI, security, sovereign cloud, and developer tools.

The sovereign cloud solutions will feature both connected and “air-gapped” deployments, isolated from public networks, using Google Distributed Cloud. The companies state these offerings will fully comply with government and financial services regulations. Figure 1 shows NTT Data & Google Cloud: Agentic AI, Sovereign Cloud.
Demand for sovereign cloud is surging as governments and businesses aim for greater control over their data. Gartner projects the market will expand to $169 billion by 2028, up from $37 billion last year. Telecommunications providers are moving to capitalize on this trend, particularly in the European Union, which is promoting stronger domestic AI capabilities.
Deutsche Telekom is collaborating with Nvidia on sovereign cloud initiatives, while Orange introduced its Bleu platform last year with Capgemini, built on Microsoft Azure. NTT Data and Google Cloud’s agentic AI solutions will leverage Google’s Agentspace platform and Gemini models, focusing on analytics, decision-making, and enhancing customer experiences.
Developers will be able to test sovereign and other cloud tools in Google’s distributed sandbox environment. For cybersecurity, the companies plan to provide tools to enhance agility and resilience. Industry-specific use cases include a finance firm using NTT Data’s compliance tool Regla on Google Cloud AI infrastructure, while Google Gemini powers a virtual concierge offering multilingual 24/7 support for travelers. Other focus industries include retail, life sciences, and the public sector.
In addition to Google’s products, the partnership will leverage NTT Data’s generative AI framework Takumi to guide AI deployment, along with its smart agent ecosystem for managing and deploying AI agents.
The partnership aims to capitalize on growing AI and cloud opportunities [1]. Citing Gartner, the companies note that end-user spending on public cloud is expected to rise to $723 billion this year, up from $595.7 billion last year.
Beyond their joint products, the companies plan to invest in global go-to-market and sales efforts, with NTT Data establishing a dedicated business group to expand delivery capabilities.
