IP Vanish Introduces Remote Browser Isolation for Windows and Mac Apps

IP Vanish has added a cloud-based Secure Browser to its Windows and macOS VPN apps, marking the company’s first major move into full-spectrum endpoint security. Available to Advanced plan subscribers, the feature uses Remote Browser Isolation (RBI) to protect users from web-based threats by running browsing sessions entirely in the cloud.

RBI ensures that all executable web code stays off the local device, with only a visual or sanitized output delivered to the user. This approach makes browser fingerprinting and malware attacks far less effective, contrasting with traditional antivirus solutions that react after a threat executes.

The new Secure Browser allows users to start disposable, cloud-based sessions that leave no traces—no cache, cookies, or browsing history—once closed. Unlike simple incognito modes, IPVanish’s implementation leverages pixel rendering or DOM reconstruction to process web pages remotely, streaming only safe content to the device. This prevents malware, trackers, zero-day exploits, and malicious scripts from running locally.

This launch reflects a broader trend of VPN providers evolving into multi-layered cybersecurity platforms [1]. IP Vanish, known for fast, audited no-logs VPN connections, has previously rolled out tools like a dark web scanner and URL/QR checkers, but the Secure Browser is its most technically advanced addition, offering runtime protection on top of traditional privacy features. Figure 1 shows remote browser isolation.

Advanced plan users receive 30 hours of secure browsing per month at no extra cost, with sessions launched directly from the desktop app and a countdown timer to track usage. Unlike standalone secure browsers, this integrated solution requires no additional installation.
