Here’s A Closer Look at How This New Feature Operates and Its Implications for Users
According to a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently rolling out a video note mode feature for the camera to select beta testers on Android and iOS. Beta users can now try out this new camera mode to share video notes in their chats. Figure 1 shows WABetaInfo.
This mode enables users to effortlessly record video notes directly within the camera interface, streamlining the process by eliminating the need to tap and hold the camera icon in the chat bar. It offers a unified method for capturing and sharing video messages seamlessly.
This feature is anticipated to resolve user confusion surrounding the recording of video notes. Previously, WhatsApp adjusted how users initiate and send video notes, transitioning from the voice note mode. This change caused confusion when WhatsApp replaced the microphone button with the camera icon for recording video messages, according to the report.
With the introduction of this new mode, WhatsApp aims to streamline the process, enhancing its intuitiveness and improving the visibility of the video note feature. [2] This initiative is designed to encourage more users to make use of this functionality.
In related news, it has been recently reported that WhatsApp is developing an optional feature that will enable users to create images of themselves using Meta AI. This feature is expected to allow users to generate AI images from a single set of photos. Meta AI will analyze these setup photos to ensure that the generated images accurately represent the user’s appearance.
