Mahindra Group Aims for an Eightfold Increase in Automotive Revenue Between FY20 and FY30
Indian automaker Mahindra has set an ambitious target to achieve an eightfold increase in consolidated revenue from its automotive division by FY30, as the company continues to focus heavily on SUVs and light commercial vehicles.
According to its latest regulatory filing, the group’s auto division recorded consolidated revenue of ₹90,825 crore in FY25—marking a 3.2x growth since FY20.

Outlining its goal of becoming “the world’s fastest-growing SUV brand,” Mahindra said its rugged, adventure-focused lineup will capture the 70% share of India’s passenger vehicle market while also expanding internationally. The company plans to enter right-hand-drive markets such as the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, along with left-hand-drive regions in Europe.
Mahindra also plans to lead the country’s last-mile mobility electrification efforts and become India’s top electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, aiming for one million EVs on the road by 2031 [1]. In addition, it intends to expand electric commercial vehicle exports to more than 10 global markets. Figure 1 shows Automotive Revenue Between FY20 And FY30.
For Tech Mahindra, the company expects its turnaround strategy to be completed by FY27, aligning with its long-term vision to deliver profitable and sustainable growth above industry averages.In the truck and bus segment, the group is aiming for a sixfold increase in revenue by FY30, with plans to rank among the top three players in India’s ILCV trucks and buses category.The auto division posted a Profit Before Interest and Tax (PBIT) of ₹7,797 crore in FY25—a sixfold rise since FY20.
Mahindra believes that 70% of the passenger vehicle market remains underpenetrated. With SUVs currently accounting for just 30% of the segment and the remainder consisting of hatchback crossovers and multi-purpose vehicles, the company sees vast market potential for future growth.
