Bethesda and id Software have released an FAQ outlining all known bugs and issues in Doom: The Dark Ages. The game is now accessible to pre-order customers, who are encouraged to review the FAQ for important information.

As mentioned in my previous article, Doom: The Dark Ages has some issues on NVIDIA GPUs. For example, using G-Sync or V-Sync combined with Multi Frame Generation on RTX 50 series cards can cause game crashes. Additionally, Alt+Tabbing during launch might make the game run in the background, making it inaccessible. If you face frequent crashes with the 576.40 drivers, a PC reboot is recommended. Figure 1 shows Doom: The Dark Ages.

On the AMD side, there’s one known bug: the game can freeze if you manually resize the window while using FSR Frame Generation. To prevent this, avoid resizing the game window with FSR Frame Gen enabled. Also, keep in mind that overlays from MSI Afterburner or RivaTuner might cause stability problems, so use them cautiously.

Field of view (FOV) adjustments won’t apply during cinematics or interactive moments like shield bashing through walls—this is intentional according to the developers. However, they’re considering a post-launch update to make FOV changes apply globally. Additionally, some players might notice their Gold amount doesn’t update after buying upgrades. In rare cases, the Vagary in the Ancestral Forge can vanish, preventing access to the collectible near the wolf statue.

Regarding the NVIDIA problems, id Software says these will need a new driver update from NVIDIA to be resolved [1]. The other bugs are under investigation by the developers but won’t be fixed with a day-one patch. As for Path Tracing, there’s still no exact release date, but Bethesda assures it will be coming soon.
