By 2025, OpenAI has faced scrutiny over concerns that it was losing ground in the AI race to Chinese competitors like DeepSeek. At the same time, the company has worked to strengthen ties with Washington, expand ambitious data center projects, and prepare for one of the largest funding rounds in history.
