Ride-hailing Apps

Ride-hailing apps, also known as ride-sharing or taxi-hailing apps, are mobile applications that enable users to request a ride from a nearby driver. These apps have disrupted the traditional taxi industry by offering a more convenient and affordable alternative to traditional taxis.

Uber

Headquartered in San Francisco alongside some of the biggest tech firms in the world. They have an estimated 110 million worldwide users, and it’s the rideshare company that led the charge at radically disrupting the transportation industry. [1]

LYFT

Also based in San Francisco, Lyft is a car sharing app that operates in hundreds of cities across North America. The business promises to offer an affordable, memorable, and welcoming rider experience. [1]

Careem

Careem is a Dubai-based service that offers rideshare, food delivery, and more. The company currently operates in more than 100 cities, and they’ve done an excellent job of capturing the market in the Middle East and North Africa. [1]

Ola

Ola Cabs started way back in the year 2010 under the tutelage of Ankit Bhati and Bhavish Aggarwal. This service provider gained credibility and fame almost instantaneously after its inception. Currently, Ola serves at various cities of India which include names such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and many more. [2]

Via

Headquartered in New York, Via has spread its branches across 20 countries worldwide. It runs under its own brand in only six countries, and in the rest of these operating countries, it runs in partnership with the local companies. [1]
