Schlage's latest smart lock is the Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt. It doesn't look all that different from Schlage's similar smart lock products, with a keypad on the outside portion of the lock. The keypad allows you or guests to enter a code to unlock your door.

What makes the Encode Plus different is that it is one of the first smart locks to support Apple's home key platform. Once the lock is installed, you'll be able to add a digital key to the Apple Wallet app on your iPhone or Apple Watch. You can also share keys with friends, family members, or guests.

Figure1 shows the Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt is the newest device in Schlage's connected portfolio and the first smart lock solution in the North American market to support Apple's home keys for iPhone and Apple Watch. With a Schlage Home Key in Apple Wallet, homeowners don't even need to unlock their iPhone or Apple Watch to open their lock, and with Power Reserve, even if the iPhone needs to be charged, they may still be able to tap to unlock for up to five hours after their iPhone battery runs out. Additionally, the lock is also fully supported by the Schlage Home app. The same unique and highly rated features developed with Schlage's original WiFi-enabled lock are available through the Schlage.

Lock manufacturer Schlage showcased their Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt at CES 2022. You can store a digital key in your Apple Wallet to lock and unlock your door just by tapping it with your device (much like how Apple Pay or Apple Transit works). You can put the lock into two different modes—Express lets you unlock the door with your phone, while “Require Face ID or Passcode” steps up the authentication process. And don’t worry, should you misplace your phone as often as you do your keys, you can use Apple’s Find My feature to disable your Apple Wallet, turning off Home Key.
