Cognizant and Google Cloud have announced an expanded relationship to assist clients in developing, migrating, and modernising their AI journeys. The alliance will support enterprise customers along their AI journey to create, migrate, and modernise, with Cognizant opening new Google Cloud AI Innovation Centres in Bangalore, London, and San Francisco, scaling their industry-leading AI capabilities.[1]

Figure 1 shows Cognizant's solution suites will make use of Google Cloud's latest generative AI technologies, such as large language models (LLMs) and Gen App Builder. Gen App Builder harnesses the full power of Google Cloud generative AI to dramatically reduce deployment obstacles (lead times, talent required, and effort) for high-value enterprise use cases like Conversational AI and Enterprise Search. Google Cloud also provides direct Application Programming Interface (API) access to the underlying LLMs via Vertex AI's generative AI technology. Additional foundation model options are available in the Vertex AI Model Garden, which includes a number of first-party, third-party, and open-source models, each optimised for a distinct task and/or domain, giving a diverse set of options matched to client requirements.[2]

Cognizant's efforts in generative AI capabilities include the creation of the Cognizant Google Cloud AI University, a new programme that will train 25,000 Cognizant employees on Google Cloud AI technologies that will also be made available to Cognizant clients. According to a Cognizant statement, the institution will provide a variety of courses, including beginner courses on AI fundamentals, advanced courses on Google Cloud's solutions, and particular AI use cases.[3]

In addition, Cognizant will open Google Cloud AI Innovation hubs in Bangalore, London, and San Francisco. Cognizant specialists, Google Cloud experts, clients, and university students will be brought together in these centres to collaborate on responsible AI projects and solutions.
