This speculation is fueled by Nintendo's recent adjustments to its typical Nintendo Direct schedule to accommodate an event in September, as noted by Kotaku. Additionally, September is a significant month in the Japanese gaming calendar, with the Tokyo Game Show scheduled at the end of the month.

There have been “industry whispers” about a September reveal, with GamesIndustry.biz head Christopher Dring suggesting that something related to the Switch 2 could be happening this month. VGC editor-in-chief Andy Robinson also noted that many in the press have heard similar rumors, though he added that he wouldn’t bet his house on it.
