Wuthering Waves has officially announced its latest character with the upcoming 1.3 update, introducing players to the enigmatic Shorekeeper. Since its launch earlier this year, Kuro Games' open-world RPG has achieved remarkable success, featuring dynamic combat and an expanding roster of characters. The game quickly soared to the top of charts across more than 100 regions, becoming the most-downloaded game following its debut.

With the 1.1 update released in late June, fans saw the addition of highly-anticipated characters Jinhsi and Changli. Now, as Version 1.2 approaches in just over a week, Kuro Games has revealed that Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao will join the roster. As they prepare for the next patch, the developer is teasing even more future content. Figure 1 shows the shorekeeper.

The Shorekeeper, the newest five-star character arriving in Version 1.3, has been unveiled. Described as a "mysterious divine being" who has been observing the Rover's journey, the Shorekeeper’s exact gameplay details remain under wraps. There’s no word yet on her element or weapon, but she’s expected to debut in the first half of Version 1.3, slated for September 26.

This update will introduce the third playable member of the Black Shores organization, and notably, its leader. Mentioned previously in-game by Version 1.0 character Aalto, the Shorekeeper's addition marks a significant development for the game. Encore, a standard five-star character, also belongs to the Black Shores alongside Aalto, who are both described as "consultants" for the organization. The Shorekeeper has not yet appeared in-game.

In addition to the excitement surrounding the 1.3 update, Kuro Games is also working on other features. A new storage system for Waveplates is on the way, designed to streamline energy use, and a PS5 version is in development, with a demo recently showcased at a Chinese gaming convention. With new characters and a forthcoming PS5 release, there’s plenty for fans to look forward to in Wuthering Waves' future.
