Editor Guidelines


Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief is a head of the journal and their discipline. They supervise journal activities, with the aim to ensure success of the journal within the scientific community.

The Editor-in-Chief handles the scientific quality and development of the journal. The Editor-in-Chief is expected to support connection to the Editorial Board and assist the Editorial Office in the management of the journal.


EiC responsibilities

  • Nominating new Editorial Board Members.
  • Overseeing Journal activities and providing suggestions for the Journal betterment.
  • Overview Article submissions.
  • Assessing Special Issue proposals.
  • Posting the decisions.
  • Endorsing the Journal in academic meetings for more exposure.
  • Ensuring compliance with AnaPub Publications policies.
  • Supporting Publication Production.
  • Contribution of editorials on the current topics as per their time limit.

Responsibilities of Co-Editors

  • Editorial Decision-making: Co-editors play a crucial role in the peer review process. They evaluate submitted manuscripts, make decisions regarding their suitability for publication, and determine if revisions are necessary.
  • Manuscript Management: Co-editors oversee the workflow of manuscripts assigned to them. This includes assigning reviewers, managing the review process, and ensuring timely communication with authors and reviewers.
  • Quality Control: Co-editors are responsible for upholding the quality and integrity of the journal's content. They ensure that manuscripts meet the journal's standards and adhere to ethical guidelines, such as plagiarism and conflict of interest policies.
  • Journal Development and Strategy: Co-editors contribute to the overall development and strategic direction of the journal. They may participate in discussions related to journal scope, editorial policies, and long-term goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Co-editors often collaborate with other editors, editorial board members, and the journal's publisher. They engage in regular communication to discuss journal operations, solicit feedback, and address any issues that arise.
  • Promotion and Networking: Co-editors may actively promote the journal, attend conferences, and network with researchers and professionals in the field to encourage submissions and enhance the journal's visibility and reputation.
  • Keeping Abreast of Research Trends: Co-editors stay updated with the latest research trends and advancements in their field of expertise. This helps them make informed decisions about the relevance and significance of submitted manuscripts.

Additionally, the co-editor's role often involves close collaboration with other members of the editorial team, including the editor-in-chief and associate editors.


Responsibilities of Associate Editors

Associate editors have important responsibilities that contribute to the overall editorial process.

  • Peer Review Management: Associate editors are involved in managing the peer review process. They assess submitted manuscripts, assign them to appropriate reviewers, and ensure timely completion of reviews. They also evaluate reviewer comments and make recommendations regarding manuscript acceptance or revisions.
  • Decision-making: Associate editors make editorial decisions based on the reviewers' comments and their own evaluation of the manuscript. They determine whether a manuscript should be accepted, rejected, or sent back for revisions.
  • Manuscript Evaluation: Associate editors critically evaluate manuscripts to assess their quality, originality, significance, and adherence to the journal's scope and guidelines. They provide constructive feedback to authors and help improve the clarity and impact of the submitted work.
  • Editorial Board Contributions: Associate editors often participate in editorial board meetings and discussions. They provide input on journal policies, development strategies, and scope expansion. They may also contribute to special issues or thematic series.
  • Communication and Coordination: Associate editors facilitate effective communication between authors, reviewers, and the editorial team. They maintain regular correspondence with authors, addressing queries, providing updates, and ensuring a smooth flow of information throughout the publication process.
  • Expertise and Subject Area Knowledge: Associate editors possess expertise and in-depth knowledge in specific subject areas. They stay updated with the latest research trends, methodologies, and advancements in their field, allowing them to assess manuscript quality and suitability accurately.
  • Ethical Oversight: Associate editors are responsible for upholding ethical standards in research and publishing. They identify and address issues related to plagiarism, conflicts of interest, data manipulation, and research misconduct.
  • Journal Promotion and Engagement: Associate editors may participate in activities to promote the journal, such as attending conferences, contributing to social media outreach, and engaging with the scientific community. They may also help identify potential reviewers and authors.

Their roles often involve collaboration with co-editors, the editor-in-chief, and other members of the editorial team to ensure the smooth functioning of the journal and the dissemination of high-quality research.


Responsibilities of Editorial Board Members

Editors/Board Members have a responsibility to support the integrity of the published literature, if needed, by publishing errata or corrections identifying anything of significance, retractions, and expressions of concern as quickly as possible. Editor must follow the policy guidelines provided by the publisher and fulfil the responsibilities bestowed upon with integrity.


Managing Editor

Managing Editors propose journal development plan for Editor-in-Chief’s consideration, execute the plan after it is approved by the Editor-in-Chief, prepare journal development reports to the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board, identify important and interesting topics in the journal’s research field, commission high-quality articles, pre-screen new submissions before sending it to Academic Editors for pre-check, call Academic Editors’ attention to potential author/reviewer misconducts, draft short news and research highlights. Managing Editors assist all Academic Editors, monitor assistant and production editors, and overall push forward the journal.


Assistant Editor

Assistant Editors liaise with authors, reviewers and Academic Editors on manuscript basis, do light copyediting, organize peer review, report any suspected author/reviewer misconducts to Managing Editors, assist Managing Editors in journal data collection.
