Carl Pei's tech company Nothing will unveil its first smartphone, the Phone 1, this summer, the entrepreneur announced at an event on Wednesday.

Figure 1 shows that the phone will run on Nothing OS, which the company said will distill "the best features of pure Android." If you're interested in getting a glimpse, a first preview of the OS will be available via its launcher, which will be available to download on select smartphone models from April.[1]

Carl Pei’s London-based Nothing had launched the ear (1) wireless earbuds which performed very well in the market and now the company has come up with its second product, the Nothing Phone (1).

The company is said to have raised a funding amount of $144 million and it has hired over 300 people to build a team.

The wait is finally over as Nothing has announced the Phone (1) today during “The Truth” event that was live streamed on the official YouTube channel and company’s website at 7:30 PM.

The Nothing Phone (1) will carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset under the hood and it will run on Nothing’s proprietary OS, Nothing OS, which will be based on Android.[2]

The company hasn't revealed any details about what the Nothing phone will look like. The company hasn’t revealed any details about the India launch of the Nothing Phone (1) yet.

However, since its first product, Nothing ear (1), was launched in the country alongside the global release, we can expect the same for the phone as well.

In other words, Nothing Phone (1) may go official in India come summer alongside the global release.[3]
