Cyngn Expands Patent Portfolio with Innovations in Autonomous Vehicle and Cloud Technologies
Cyngn Inc. announced that it has received its 22nd U.S. patent, highlighting a new cloud-based computation method designed to support autonomous driving while significantly reducing the need for onboard hardware. The patent, U.S. No. 12,246,733, reflects the company's growing portfolio—12 new patents since August 2023.

“This milestone not only protects our intellectual property, but also reinforces our mission to deliver practical innovations that boost productivity in industrial settings,” said CEO Lior Tal. Figure 1 shows Cyngn Advances AV Tech with New Cloud-Based Patent.
Founded in 2013, Cyngn specializes in autonomous vehicle solutions for industries like automotive manufacturing and logistics. Its flagship product, the DriveMod kit, can be integrated into industrial vehicles either at the point of manufacture or as a retrofit.
The DriveMod Forklift's ability to operate both indoors and outdoors recently earned Cyngn a 2025 RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award. More will be shared at the RBR50 Gala during the upcoming Robotics Summit & Expo.
Cyngn's Latest Patent Enables Cloud-Based Autonomous Driving and Fleet Coordination
Cyngn Inc. has been granted a new U.S. patent titled “System and Methods of Off-Board Centric Autonomous Driving Computation,” marking a significant advancement in its autonomous vehicle (AV) technology portfolio. The patent outlines a method where vehicles transmit sensor data to cloud servers, which then handle critical functions such as environment mapping, decision-making, and route planning. These computed driving commands are then relayed back to the vehicle.
This cloud-based architecture reduces the computational load on individual vehicles, allowing for lighter, more cost-efficient AVs without compromising on performance, safety, or precision, the company said. Additionally, Cyngn noted that the system supports advanced fleet management, enabling coordinated operation of multiple autonomous vehicles through a centralized cloud infrastructure.
“The grant of this patent marks a significant milestone in Cyngn’s intellectual property strategy, further bolstering its position in the AV industry,” the company stated.
This achievement follows closely on the heels of Cyngn's 21st patent, which focused on adaptive object-based decision-making for autonomous driving. Together, these patents highlight Cyngn’s continued momentum in securing and developing cutting-edge AV technologies.
Enterprise Autonomy Suite Deployments Expected to Accelerate
Cyngn anticipates increased adoption of its Enterprise Autonomy Suite, which includes key offerings such as the DriveMod Kit and Cyngn Insight—a platform for fleet management, teleoperation, and data analytics. These tools enable businesses to seamlessly integrate autonomous driving technology into existing operations, avoiding the high upfront costs typically associated with AV implementation.
By retrofitting current vehicle fleets, Cyngn’s technology empowers companies to modernize without needing to replace their entire inventory. The company emphasized that its solutions are designed to enhance workforce productivity and operational efficiency, particularly in response to ongoing labor shortages, rising safety costs, and growing e-commerce demand.
To support this growth, Cyngn raised $33 million in January to expand production and deployment of its DriveMod tuggers and forklifts, further solidifying its role in the industrial autonomy space.
