In the 1960s, several businesses designed, developed and implemented centralized computing systems, mostly [1] to automate their inventory requirements. In the 1970s Material Requirement Planning system was developed for planning material requirements according to the production requirements.

Between 1980-90, several systems were developed to synchronize the manufacturing processes with various other processes such as HR, Finance, Inventory etc. and was most commonly referred to as Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP). The technological foundation of MRP paved the way for a new software system called Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) at the beginning of the 1990s. From then onwards, many modules were added to the core module of ERP and extensions were made available to meet the business-specific requirements.

ERP (Enterprise Resource Management) systems relate to the IT discipline that deals with keeping fundamental business processes [2] of a company - whether they deal with manufacturing automobiles or providing financial services to its customers.

Wireless ERP is an enhancement to core ERP applications and systems so that mobile sales force and customer service personnel can interact figure 1 shown below with this information from anywhere, any time.

So like the Wireless Technology, its effectiveness has been proved beyond doubt. Advancement of Wireless Technology in ERP has given a double advantage to the companies which are using ERP for a long time. As Wireless technology has its reach beyond any geographic location and also its communication and data transfer process is much faster. So it has become the eye candy of every organization.

Today every offices use WIFI connections which are free from the hassles of wired connections, has been proved as the boon to the ERP users. Like in any manufacturing company where head office is in different location whereas warehouse, sales office, manufacturing unit are in different location [3]. They are now always connected through WIFI and can keep all updated information about stocks, product delivery sales process, workers time schedules and also the profit margin. Previously they all had to maintain piles of files and also engage more people for the maintenance of those files. But now they are saved from those tortures. Now only a laptop is all they require with superfast data communication process and they are sorted from every problem.

ERP provides a host of services for companies trying to improve how efficiently they operate. The systems are constantly being updated by the proprietors to offer the speediest and most reliable services.

As the name suggests, ERP’s primary goal is to manage the various resources within the company [4] to make sure they are being utilized in a cost-effective way. It is also designed to make sure that all resources are being used efficiently.

ERP works particularly well for tracking and managing things such as a company’s capacity for production, cash levels, raw materials at its disposal, payroll information, and purchase orders.
