Mark Zuckerberg shared a glimpse way ahead into the future where robots can perform a number of complex tasks with ease. From smart prosthetics to carrying out complex surgeries, the robot will be able to learn the skill with help from Meta’s new AI platform.

Figure 1 shows that the possibilities of artificial intelligence (AI) have always been far and beyond one can imagine. [1]

The robots are capable of learning new skills from the new Meta AI platform. Zuckerberg has shared a social media post revealing that the Meta AI team has created a new platform called MyoSuite.

Meta AI team developed a new AI platform called MyoSuite that builds realistic musculoskeletal simulations that run up to 4,000x faster than state of the art. We can train these models to perform complex movements like twirling a pen or rotating a key.

This research could accelerate development of prosthetics, physical rehab, and surgery techniques. It could also help us develop more realistic avatars for the metaverse. [2]

In the 24-second video shared by Zuckerberg, the model can be seen drawing a thumbs-up gesture and Baoding balls (rotating walnut-sized balls in hand that were invented in the Ming Dynasty to improve soldiers' hand strength and hand dexterity).

"This research could accelerate the development of prosthetics, physical rehab, and surgery techniques," the Facebook founder said in his post.

Talking about his favorite subject, Zuckerberg even said that this technology can help people in developing more realistic avatars for the metaverse.

"We're going to open source these models so researchers can use them to advance the field further," he concluded. [3]
