WhatsApp Spotted Bringing Ability to Silently Exit Groups
WhatsApp has been spotted introducing the ability to let users silently exit their groups — without letting other members know about their exit. The new move by the instant messaging app would make it easier for people to leave unwanted and annoying groups which they were earlier hesitating to exit as other members would be able to know about their leaving. This could particularly be the case of family groups where you don't want your relatives to know about your exit from the group due to random "Good Morning" greetings or the messages that require basic fact-checking. Figure 1 shows according to a screenshot shared by WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, the instant messaging app will inform users on their exit from a group that only the user and group admins will be notified about the move. This means that group members will not be able to see whether one of them has left the particular group
WhatsApp is seen to be working a new group-focussed update. [2]
As mentioned above, WhatsApp recently added the message reaction feature which allows users to react to a message. Using six emojis, you can quickly express your view on a text. Apart from this, the Meta-owned platform introduced the WhatsApp Communities Tab to bring all groups together, and any communities you have created or get added show up in a dedicated new tab. The new feature makes our job easier as we don't need to search for any group by going through the list of chats. Besides, WhatsApp Groups have received the ability to host a voice call with up to 32 participants from the eight participants limit. [3]
The above image, taken from the WhatsApp beta for iOS version, shows how the previews could look. The feature will be handy for people, allowing people checking out the stories to get a glimpse of the website. Note that the new link previews are also more detailed compared to the current semi-previews you sometimes see on the Android app. [4]
