Mercedes-Benz India Gearing up to Kick-Start the Production of the EQS at its Chakan Plant

The Mercedes-Benz EQS will be the second EV in the German carmaker's stable in India and we already know that it's all set to hit our roads this year itself. Mercedes-Benz India has also confirmed carandbike that the company is gearing up to kick-start its production at its Chakan plant near Pune and so it's quite obvious that the Mercedes-Benz EQS will also be sold as a completely knocked down (CKD) model in our market. The Mercedes-Benz EQS will arrive on Indian shores in Q4 of 2022. [1]

The S-Elegance of electrical sedans will probably be to be had in two trims – EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC. The EQS 450+ is the bottom variant that includes a unmarried electrical motor at the rear axle and places out 328 bhp and 568 Nm of top torque. The EQS 580 4MATIC is an all-wheel-drive (AWD) range-topping trim that will get an electrical motor on each entrance and rear axles.
