The upcoming Royal Enfield 450 cc ADV is expected to be introduced in early 2023, possibly with the production model going on sale in the first quarter of 2023.

A test mule of Royal Enfield's upcoming 450 cc adventure bike has been spotted for the first time, undergoing test runs on public roads. The new Himalayan 450 is based on an all-new platform, including a new 450 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will produce around 40 bhp. The latest spy shots reveal fat upside down forks with what we estimate to be at least 200 mm travel, and will come kitted out with a 21-inch front wheel, 17-inch rear wheel combination and will come with new styling to differentiate it from the current Himalayan 411. Figure 1 shows Adding more fuel to the fire, a test mule of what looks like the Himalayan 450 has been spotted testing for the first time and is in its initial stages of development. Only a few weeks ago, RE introduced the Himalayan-based Scram 411. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to go on sale sometime next year to take on the KTM’s 390 Adventure.

The Himalayan 450 is more of a hardcore off-roader with a high-seat front fender beak, tall windscreen and beefy upside-down front forks that could be sourced from the upcoming Super Meteor 650 with a different alignment. It rides on a 21-inch spoked front wheel and the rear could be of 17-inchers while the relaxed tall set handlebar positioning can also be seen. [2]

In terms of price, the new bike will be around Rs 2.7-3 lakh, sometimes in the first half of 2023. After being launched, the new Himalayan 450 will overdo the adventure touring motorcycles like the KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS. [3]

To cope with the feedback building, Royal Enfield has been developing an all-new adventure bike with an anticipated bigger engine. As spied for the first time on the public roads testing, the test mule has cleared a lot of questions regarding what possibly the new updates which this product shall bring along. [4]
