Oben Rorr Electric Motorcycle Launched in India, Priced At 99,999
Bengaluru-based Oben Electric launched its flagship Oben Rorr electric motorcycle in India, at a starting price of ₹ 99,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), after receiving state and central government subsidies. The pre-bookings for the Oben Rorr electric motorcycle are open at an initial token amount of ₹ 999. At present, Oben Electric retails the Oben Rorr electric motorcycle only in Bengaluru, with deliveries to commence from May 2022. The company also plans to enter seven more states in Q2 of 2022. Oben Electric's manufacturing facility in Bengaluru has an estimated production capacity of 3 lakh units per year and will soon become operational. [1]

Figure 1 shows the new Oben Rorr electric motorcycle has been launched in a single fully-loaded variant and it is priced at Rs 99,999, ex-showroom in Maharashtra. In the first phase, it is offered in seven Indian states. The prices vary as per the state and the state-wise prices are mentioned in the above image. The company says that its test drives will begin in May while the customer deliveries will commence in July 2022.
Talking about its specifications, it gets a 4.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is coupled with a 10 kW electric motor. It develops 62 Nm of peak torque and can sprint from 0-40 kmph in just 3 seconds. This high-speed electric motorcycle has a top speed of 100 kmph and gets three riding modes, namely Eco, City, and Havoc. The Oben Rorr EV is claimed to run up to 200 kilometres on a single charge in ideal conditions while it will take around 2 hours to fully juice up its battery pack. [2]
The company is promising a 3-year/60,000kms Battery Warranty and a 3-year Motor & Controller warranty, and has built a new manufacturing facility in Bengaluru that aims to produce 3 lakh units per year at maximum capacity. It also aims to enter seven new cities by Q2 2022. The closest competitors to the Rorr will be the Revolt RV400 and the Tork Kratos R. [3]
