InsulCheck DOSE by Innovation Zed
InsulCheck DOSE is a single unit add-on device for pen injectors that automatically captures dose value dialled, injection event time stamp, temperature and mounting/unmounting events. Through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, InsulCheck DOSE transmits these data points to a paired companion software platform in real time for inclusion in diabetes management therapy.[1]

Features of InsulCheckDOSE
This technology utilizes a multi-sensor approach to accurately detect and register the actual dialed dose and provide a time stamp of the infusion event for logging the event. The built-in temperature sensor constantly monitors the ambient temperature around the injection pen and provides a safety notification to the user if the ambient temperature can affect the drug contained within the pen. InsulCheck DOSE uses OLED displays to provide users with visual information and feedback to improve best practice procedures. Rechargeable lithium batteries power DOSE devices and can operate for more than a week between charges. As a BLE-enabled product, all data captured by InsulCheck DOSE is transferred in real time to the paired mobile application. If the user does not want to connect to or stay connected to the companion software platform, InsulCheck DOSE has built-in memory to store more than 40 days of injection history at a time. With changes to the sleeve components and improved firmware, InsulCheckDOSE can be applied to all injection pens for a variety of medications. At launch, it will support a variety of reusable and disposable injection pens in the Novo Nordisk, Lily and Sanofi insulin markets.

Conclusion
InsulCheck DOSE enters production at the end of Q2 2022 and will be available as an FDA registered and CE marked product.
