Toyota is all set to launch the new-generation Glanza in India today and as we already know, it is a re-badged version of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno that was recently launched in India. The model was the first product to arrive in India under the Suzuki-Toyota partnership and the 2022 Toyota Glanza takes take a similar route with few cosmetic updates in its face. The new Glanza will continue to be Toyota's entry-level offering in India, promising the brand higher penetration into the Tier II and Tier III markets, where the predecessor did well. [1]

Figure 1 shows 2022 Toyota Glanza, as compared to its predecessor, gets a new front grille with chrome embellishment, redesigned LED projector headlamps, a chiselled front bumper, split tail lights with LED signature, and a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels. Unlike the previous Glanza that was very similar to the Baleno (save for Toyota badging), the new Glanza has several design elements which lend to it a different identity. These include the sleek grille, chrome surrounds for the fog lamps, as well as a distinct design for the LED DRLs and alloy wheels. [4]

The 2022 Toyota Glanza will arrive with a major beauty replace that units it other than the Baleno. This features a redesigned entrance with a brand new grille, bumper, and revised headlamps. Leaked pictures promise the entrance design language extra in-line with Toyota fashions, whereas the rear carries over the C-shaped LED taillights from the Baleno. The new Glanza may even get new alloy wheels as a part of the visible modifications. [2]

The new Toyota Glanza will also come with features including a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, head-up display, 360-degree camera, six airbags and more. Power will come from the 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine tuned for 88bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm. The engine will be mated to a five-speed manual and an AMT option. [3]
