Kohler’s long-touted PerfectFill technology is finally here, and frazzled parents everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief. The company announced the availability of its smart bath tech at CES 2022 this week, which lets you fill up a bathtub with a simple voice command. So, if you’re downstairs cooking dinner and want to get the kids’ bath going, you can just ask Alexa or Google to run the bath for you.

PerfectFill consists of drain kit and digital valve that work together to draw the bath to your preferred temperature and depth. So, no more worrying about flooding the bathroom because you forgot it was running or scalding junior when they jump in the bath. [1]

Figure 1 shows the CES Innovation Awards program, owned and produced by the CTA, is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products across 28 product categories. An elite panel of industry expert judges, including members of the media, designers, engineers and more, reviewed submissions based on innovation, engineering and functionality, aesthetic and design.

PerfectFill is a drain system that integrates a smart drain, digital/app controller and bath filler. PerfectFill technology can draw a bath to a preferred preset temperature and desired depth with a simple voice command or through the KOHLER Konnect app, reducing time spent monitoring the bath as it fills. This system allows users to set and activate 10 pre-set experiences, letting each person activate their own bathing experience easily. [2]

Kohler brand Robern has a new product as well, the $449 IQ Digital Lock Box. Robern makes a variety of medicine cabinets, but this model is designed like a safe so you can protect medicines or other important items in your bathroom.

A couple of previously announced Kohler products are coming to market, too. Kohler's $8,000 Stillness Bath and the $400 H2Wise, made in partnership with leak sensor company Phyn, will be available in 2022.

In standard Kohler fashion, many of these products are expensive luxury items, especially the Stillness Bath. The $199 Touchless Residential Bathroom Faucet is a welcome exception, although, again, Kohler's kitchen version of the Touchless faucet didn't work reliably for us in our testing. It will be interesting to see how this bathroom iteration compares.

In addition to all of these new bathroom products, Kohler also introduced a ceiling-mounted kitchen faucet for a whopping $6,235. [3]
